    Tara is ETC’s HR Manager, responsible for dealing with all aspects of HRM within the business.

    Tara is ETC’s HR Manager, responsible for dealing with all aspects of HRM within the business, including new joiners, leavers, performance management, workplace health and safety and data protection. Tara also assists with recruitment.

    Life before ETC

    Before joining ETC, Tara worked mainly within the Education and ITC Industry and is a qualified Trainer/Assessor. Tara has worked in a variety of roles in different departments spanning over 20 years, such as Front of House, Finance, HR and Office management. After taking time off to travel the world and then start a family it was very easy for Tara to move back into PA/Administration and Office Manager roles when it was time for her to go back to work.

    Why a career in HR & Business Administration?

    Within my multifunctional role at SBL Group within the senior management team. I was given the overall responsibility for dealing with all aspects of HR for the business, which I found challenging but very much enjoyed the experience and learned a great deal about HRM. Here at ETC Tax my role in HR is made easy as ETC Tax is a very considerate employer and very much invested in its people. I am given the opportunity to ensure we continually look to improve our HR function and maintain good employee engagement. HRM plays a strategic role in the effective recruitment and management of our people and helps create the workplace culture and environment where people can thrive in their individual roles and as a team, contributing greatly to the overall company direction and objectives. I enjoy being able to help make a positive difference within my HR role to ensure everyone feels supported and valued through our HRM.

    My best (and worst) bits

    I am my own worst critic and I like everything to be perfect so I can take my time on things to make sure it’s right and get really annoyed with myself if it isn’t. I hate making mistakes!

    I am caring, loyal and dedicated and will always give the best of myself.
