Tax hot topics

Last week Enterprise Tax Centre was one of nearly 200 companies exhibiting at Accountex at Excel in London. We may well have seen some of you there!

Now in its sixth year, Accountex is the major event in the accountancy calendar for both suppliers and attendees.  Accountex is the only event that brings together accountants, suppliers, businesses and the public sector.

Accountex gave us the opportunity to meet with a large number of both our current and potential clients face-to-face during the two day exhibition.

Many potential clients were interested to learn more about our unique ‘Your Tax Partner’ service offering, and we had the opportunity to talk to them about a wide range of tax topics, from family investment companies (FICs), to pension-led funding (PLF) to tax issues for non-doms.

In terms of other tax hot topics, we found property tax planning to be amongst one of the most widely discussed subjects, closely followed by dealing with the new dividend tax rate and members voluntary liquidations. These are all issues which we regularly assist clients with.

Our stand happened to be located opposite the Tolleys Lecture Theatre, and it appeared that one of the biggest draws of the two days for attendees of Accountex was the ‘VAT update’ lecture. As such, we also found ourselves having a number of conversations about troublesome VAT issues.  At Enterprise Tax Centre, our VAT specialist is available to assist with any VAT concerns you or your clients may have.

Overall, it was a very successful two days and we hope to be back at Accountex again in 2017!

If you would like further information on our ‘Your Tax Partner’ service offering or there is any tax matter in respect of which you or your clients require specialist tax advice please do get in touch.
